Room Options and Amenities
Interns are able to select from the following room options:
- Single Occupancy, Single Bedroom/Single Bathroom, kitchen, living room
- Double Occupancy, Single Bedroom/Single Bathroom, kitchen, living room
- Triple Occupancy, Single Bedroom, Shared Bathroom, kitchen, living room
- Quad Occupancy, Single Bedroom, Shared Bathroom, kitchen, living room
Offering a wide range of complimentary amenities including a gym pass, parking permit, internet, and more. Interns can take advantage of our inclusive residential experience. All of the following are included with your room rental at no additional cost:
- Furnished room in one of our apartments
- Internet
- Full Kitchen
- Campus parking permit for one vehicle
- Pass to UM's Herbert Wellness Center
In addition to offering accommodations in our newest facility, our summer program also offers interns engaging events and activities so they can explore Miami while meeting fellow interns from across the country. Some examples of what we have done in the past include Miami Marlins games, snorkeling, and a trip the Perez Art Museum.
Eligibility
Proof of Age
All applicants for summer intern housing must be 18 years of age or older by the scheduled check-in date. To prove that you are 18 years of age or older, an original government-issued ID will be required.
Enrollment at Home Institution
Intern housing is available to undergraduate or graduate students who are enrolled in a degree-seeking program at their home institution (or will be enrolled at an institution for the upcoming Fall semester).
UM Students: On-campus housing is available for UM students who want to live on campus during the summer, regardless of their enrollment in summer courses. Visit the Summer Housing application page for more information.
Proof of Internship/Research program
To prove a student's employment status, please provide a signed letter from the hiring company’s Human Resources department or a signed statement from the supervisor. A qualifying internship can be paid, unpaid, for credit or not-for-credit and must be sponsored by the applicant’s institution of current enrollment and demonstrate a significant professional or educational experience for the participant.
Health Insurance
Applicants may be required to provide proof of their health insurance when applying for housing. If you are using college or university insurance, please make sure that this will cover you during your stay at the University of Miami.
